I Know My Humor is Around Here Somewhere

I can’t tell a joke and I probably won’t tell this one very well. I am that annoying person who has to go back a moment before the punch line because I forgot to mention some crucial detail. I’m obsessed with being punctual, but that doesn’t mean I have good comedic timing.

I gave all of my comedic timing to my son.

My husband, mother, and I were discussing the pool of republicans running for the presidential nomination. Party animals, right? My son was too busy thinking about inventing time travel to participate in our conversation. And he can’t talk yet.

My mother asked my husband what he thinks about Ron Paul.

That’s when it happened.

Some small person was blowing raspberries and making a face. All eyes looked towards the floor where my son was standing and smiling proudly. Not only does he have comedic timing, apparently he knows it.

Of course we laughed! The timing was something genius only the future inventor of time travel could do!

If that didn’t make you laugh, you have no heart…

… or perhaps my lack of comedic timing and inserting dramatic storytelling into non-dramatic situations has ruined it.

Ah, try this:

    • Thanks, Nichole! He already loves making us all laugh. I’m sure that things will get even more exciting when he starts talking. 🙂

Checking out your post now… 🙂
